Pictures from the last few weeks
Enjoying teething biscuits. He gets to be quite the mess.
Over Memorial Day we went to Kristen's for a bbq. The neighbors gave James a swing, and Michael set it up for Owen to test out. He loves to swing. You could hear him laughing across the yard. If only condos in our complex were selling, we are ready to buy a house with a tree for a swing.
Random pictures of Owen playing.

Busy, busy Owen
Last Saturday was Owen's 9 month checkup. He's 29 inches and 22 pounds 2 ounces, which puts him in about the 70th percentile for each. His head circumference is a whopping 18.75 inches, the 94th percentile. We've been having lots of spitup for the last few weeks, so the pediatrician told us to cut dairy and keep Owen still for 30 minutes after meals.
This is what Owen does in the evening. He is trying out a new laugh in the walker picture:
We can keep him still for 5 minutes tops. I don't think it's the dairy, I think he just moves around so much he can't keep it down. He doesn't mind the spitup, we just don't like orange polka dot carpet (still better than the previous green-brown patterned shag). We'll have to see what the pediatrician suggests now.
Owen is a crawling, standing, moving around table, bouncing, walking with walker crazy little monkey. One of his toys made a monkey noise and I swear he was imitating monkey movements. He has his two bottom teeth and a middle and side top tooth poked through today. Hopefully the other side comes in soon, that'll look silly pretty fast. He loves to laugh and he cracks himself up. For some reason motrin makes him giggly. You can't help but laugh when he does.
I have lots of cute pictures to post later.

Trip to Florida and crawling!
Thursday
Our trip to Florida started off well. While getting up at 4am stinks, it works well because Owen will sleep on the plane. He slept the whole flight aside from about half an hour. We had an empty middle seat so he curled up there.
After arriving at my parents house, Owen was being playful on the couch. We've been working on him stopping this, it's getting there.
He played with a bunch of toys on the floor. We mostly hung out this day.
Friday
More playing, and we went to the beach for the first time. Owen did not like the water, I think it was the noise. We put him on the sand and he enjoyed it, but then he started to eat it. Gross. He got to be babysat by Grandma and Grandpa while Mom and Dad went to the Red Sox game.
Saturday
Another trip to the beach for a bit. Grandma came along and took some pictures. We also played in the kiddie pool. Owen seemed to have a lot of fun in it, though he didn't even seem to realize that he was in water. We also went to the block party that night.
Getting ready for the beach (or maybe after the beach):
He wasn't a fan of the car seat we used in Florida. He much preferred this position:

Some pool pictures, from the trip:
Sunday
Owen went to his first baseball game. The Red Sox lost. We started out by checking out the rays in the tank. Owen could tell something was in there, but was mostly just taking everything in.
Then we found our seats and enjoyed the game. Owen was playing with toys, but also fell asleep towards the end. We bought a seat for Owen even though it wasn't necessary, well worth it as the floors were gross and we could put his bag on the seat.
Later we went to Tracy's graduation. While we waited for everyone to get there we took some pictures.
Congrats Tracy!
Monday and Tuesday we just played around the house mostly. We also watched Owen practice his new skill.........crawling! He slept the whole flight home, aside form screaming through the safety announcements.

Baby Jail
While in Florida (pics from that later), Owen started crawling. He has gained new access to outlets, books, electronic buttons, large floor lamps, you get the idea. We got a gated yard for him and brought it out. It's currently in his usual play area, but will go off to the side for when we need to leave him alone for a minute, like in the morning when Steve is getting dressed. He can't be trusted alone anymore.
He's learning the ropes. I kinda think he likes it, he finds it easy to pull up to standing and lots of bars for noise.
