Talking on the phone

We thought Owen was brillant, but later today he was holding a pacifier to his ear like a telephone too. Must be his bluetooth. Got to love his gibberish.

Master of Destruction

Last weekend Owen and I spent the day together playing while Steve played golf. This was the end result. He got a lot of birthday gifts, plus the Christmas gifts I went overboard on. I think he pretty much pulled everything out, though many things were already out to begin with.

On the way to our work picnic, we stopped at Ikea and I ran in and got a toy box (it matches the rest of our fancy living room furniture). Then onto the picnic. Owen went on the merry go round for the first time. Between the paint peeling off and the operator being a little heavy on the speed control, I pulled Owen off the horse (no belt anyways) and held onto him to stay safe. We wouldn't of fallen off, it was just a lot faster than expected. We walked around and checked out the other rides, but I didn't get a picture. Got to love a free carnival, rides, games, activities, food and drinks, even lobster. Owen enjoyed chicken fingers, hot dogs and grapes, and later a few bites of ice cream. It was really hot.

When we got home Owen helped put together the toy box. Maybe now there will be less destruction. He can open it himself very easily. And it does have a back, I just put it on last.

Owen's Birthday

For Owen's birthday the original plan was to take him to the children's museum in Boston as Steve and I both had the day off. Steve wanted to check out the Patriots practice though and it didn't start til 9:30. There is a lot to do over there so we decided to make a day of it. No pictures from practice, but after a little while Owen and I walked down to Bass Pro Shops so Steve could watch the practice in peace. Steve met us down there after.

Owen really loved all the fake animals. This moose was in a pond full of trout. Owen kept trying to walk into it saying "yeah, yeah". It was hard getting a picture as he only wanted to look at the pond. He liked the fish tank too.

They just opened a trail behind the store. We went for a quick walk. There is a pond full of turtles and frogs and then a few cranberry bogs.

We went to lunch afterwards and it was hard finding a place to eat. Red Robin was closed because something was broken. CBS Scene had a 45 minute wait. Qdoba and Five Guys had huge lines. We went to Bar Louie and there was no wait, and they even had high chairs and a kids menu. A few Patriots players were even having lunch there. Owen liked his grilled cheese. We've had some tickets to the Hall of Fame from Steve's dad so we checked it out. Owen slept through it all. He did sort of check out Brady's locker and get in the huddle with Steve.

We opened his birthday present, a toy garage that makes all sorts of noise. He's starting to figure out how to open presents, though he needs to work on not climbing on top of them.

He got to have some birthday cake again too. I made sure the icing was gooier this time. He didn't eat much, mostly smeared it everywhere. We forgot about the cake and had given him a bath after we got home from Patriot Place, so he ended up getting two baths in about an hour.

Birthday Party

The scene before it all started. The weather turned out great, though it was pretty hot. The kids enjoyed the pool which is finally getting warmed up.

Birthday boy

Not a big fan of hats though, he just wants to pull them off.

Likes to be upside down.

The cakes and cupcakes I made.

Anticipation:

Cautious poking

Digging in:

He noticed the strap hanging down and decided to chew on that instead of cake.

Not sure what happened here, except for there was green frosting in his eyes after.

Partied out.

Thanks to everyone that came and helped us celebrate!
